Dan Brown’s “Angels & Demons” is the first full e-book I read. Having read Brown’s “The Da Vinchi Code” earlier, I had tasted the blood. Brown writes in such a way that you don’t feel like stopping reading even for a meal. The book is such exciting.
The main character of the novel is Robert Langdon, who is also the protagonist of Brown’s subsequent 2003 novel, The Da Vinci Code, and 2009 novel, The Lost Symbol. The book exposes a mystery story that happens in and around the Vatican involving the Pope, the top cardinals and the scientific research lab the CERN. A lot of incidents that are controversial are put into the story. I wonder how Brown did research into these minute details of a place like the Vatican.
The story is revolved around an ancient cult called Illuminati” and its revenge on the religion, especially the Vatican. The cult ends up killing the incumbent Pope and Papal aspirants in order to destroy the whole Papal line. However, with the involvement of Robert Langdon and Vittoria, the cult is exposed and the Church’s continuation is ensured.
A feature film on the book was released on May 15, 2009.
I’m not a massive Dan Brown fan, but I definitely enjoyed Angels and Demons the most out of his works.
